Stumbled across this little discreet treasure while shopping in Benson. At first I thought it was a record store. Then I saw the word "deli", and thought - "interesting". Stepped inside and the aroma of toasting bread swept me off my feet. Carried me past the local artists work straight to the menu on the wall. Diverse flair on the deli sandwich and boy was it DELICIOUS!!! A lone young woman was slaving away at the assembly counter - bless her heart. The food was fresh, hot, and well priced. I'd recommend this to anyone in the area. Well done Star Deli! WELL...DONE

The foods alright, but tonight was the last straw.
Called to order food for four. The guy on the phone was super inconvenienced being asked to do the thing that literally supports their business. When asked if now was a bad time to assess his piss poor attitude - he responsed, verbatim, "Yeah, that's a lot of sandwiches, people might come in." GOD FORBID PEOPLE COME INTO YOUR BUSINESS AND BUY THE SANDWICHES YOU ARE PAID TO MAKE. Y'all lost a lot of customers tonight. -

A wonderful little unassuming deli in Benson, tucked away around the corner off of Maple and Military. The sandwich selection is eclectic, with some nice combinations, and daily-baked cookies also available at the register. The smaller size sandwiches, all $5 as of this writing, are certainly large enough to feed a grown human.
It's a great find, and I look forward to my return. -

My fiancé and I thought the food was good but not great. Maybe it was because of our choice in sandwich. He got the cubano on the French bread which was pretty good actually but he thought it was just okay. I got the pork and peach sandwich. Now I like the combination of sweet and a little spice but I found myself towards the end part of the half not wanting to eat more. It was too much. We may come back and try some of the proclaimed best sandwiches.

I stopped in here recently when I was craving a sandwich but was not too impressed with the local sandwich places. I wasn't disappointed.
The place did look just a little dingy and it even smelled a little like stale sink water, and the prices were a tad on the high side for sandwiches, but I was feeling hungry and adventurous. The guy who handled everything for me was super friendly and had no problem explaining some of the sandwiches and what the regulars usually go with.
I tried the Cubano and the Long Beach to go. They were both outstanding sandwiches. Everything looked/smelled/tasted fresh and great, which is the first time in a long time I've had any luck with a deli in Omaha.
If the place was a little cleaner and the prices just a tad lower, I could see myself eating here regularly. I'm at least going to give them another shot or two, because those sandwiches were really damn good.
